As many as five individual cameras, the Nokia 9 PureView and the Xiaomi Mi 9 CC Pro Premium Edition) that are improved computational on the software side of things.
As compared to previous years, there are notable improvements in technological developments. In 2019 overall DXOMARK camera has seen new high scores as well as for most sub-scores. It is an excellent indication of smartphones all-around camera capabilities; it is best to sink deeper and have a thicker look at the sub-scores if you have more precise imaging specifications, such as precisely what we’ve done in arranging the list below.
For 2019, Here are our favorite smartphone cameras :
Huawei Mate 30 Pro / Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition:
In the DXOMARK Camera rankings, The Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Xiaomi CC9 Pro Premium Edition presently share the top spot. Both give an excellent choice for mobile photographers who need a top-end performance in any mobile photo or video situation.
Devices come with the cutting-edge camera hardware. Both are different in some way. The Huawei features give a primary camera with a 40Mp Quad-Bayer sensor and an f/1.7-aperture lens. It has accompanied by a 3x tele-module and an ultra-wide camera with a vast (1/1.54″) sensor and a lens with an 18mm-equivalent field of view.
In terms of camera modules, the Xiaomi manages to top the Huawei giving a total quantity of five. The 108MP Quad-Bayer sensor produces 27MP image output in the primary cameras. A 20MP ultra-wide camera also found with a 16mm-equivalent field of composition, not the one but two Tele lenses, a 2x zoom factor (50mm equivalent) is provided by short telephoto, and a long telephoto adds the primary camera’s equal focal length by about 3.5 (94mm-equivalent). (Outside the DXOMARK a dedicated macro camera that we did not test).
Mate 30 Pro, even in low light, shows good appearance, color, and noise.
This Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition gives excellent exposure and white balance and color rendering of images.
Overall, the two cameras’ test outcomes are best in the virtual all field. For most subscores, the differences between the two are minor. But, if you have very particular conditions, it might be challenging to select one of our top-ranked devices and having a more in-depth look at the variations over the other.
Due to the proper management of image noise and artifacts, The Huawei achieves an insignificantly better Photo score, image noise, and artifacts. When zooming the Xiaomi gives good results due to the dual telelens approach, though, across the entire zoom range, it offers the best quality range. With its ultra-wide camera, it also allows a slightly broader field of view than the Huawei. In terms of Video, the Xiaomi hardly edges out the Mate 30 Pro. It gives better color rendering, more moderate noise levels; video autofocus is more stable. There is no matter from these two, which you pick if you are shooting images and Video among one of the very most beneficial smartphone cameras currently on the market. (in some Asian markets the availability of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition is presently confined).

Very excellent for zoom: Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition
Very few regions are still one of the very few areas to Zoom, and conventional compact cameras have an advantage over smartphones. Still, gratefulness to the arrival of dedicated optical Tele lenses. Smartphones considerably reduce the gap over the past two years or so. The tool that comes most alike to the “real camera” zoom review is the “Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition” is
It broke the race in our tests. Contain a new high Zoom sub-score of 109. Thanks to a complicated and innovative zoom system that is currently unique. It’s telephoto cameras uses two distinct focal lengths. For this unusual setup, an imaging pipeline hast should optimize. It provides high-quality telephoto images beyond our whole range of measured focal lengths. The cameras start by allowing true optical zoom at 2x and at a roughly 4x usual smartphone focal length. With dedicated tele-cameras that we have examined in difference to most other devices, Xiaomi does an excellent job of offering quality telephoto images at both its native focal lengths and at different tested focal lengths in between.
The CC9 Pro Premium Edition catches extraordinary detail, still at long-range zoom.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition, crop
During our testing, the Xiaomi preserved fine details noticeably better than even on the best competitors at medium and long-range. Some artifacts are only visible in zoom inn pictures, especially ringing. But in spite of that room for improvement, the latest Xiaomi flagship is currently the device of choice for those who need the ability to zoom in on their smartphone cameras.

Also consider: Huawei P30 Pro
The Huawei P30 Pro cannot put up with the Xiaomi in terms of image features. Notably, at longer zoom ranges and in between the native focal lengths of its first and dedicated tele-cameras.Thanks to a 5x tele-module with collapsed optics and bright image-merging technology. It might be more comfortable to get ahold of in many nations than the Xiaomi, which is currently for specific in only Asian markets.

Excellent for ultra-wide: Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G
Ultra full cameras appreciated when you want to interior images, scenes, and group shots give up an essential symmetry of your photographic portfolio; over the past couple of years or so, they have become attractive much, A standard feature found on a high-end smartphone. We found different results when testing ultra-wide cameras because not all ultra-wide cameras are the same, in terms of both efficient fields of view and overall image quality.
If you require to be sure that your ultra-wide images cover a wide angle of view, show excellent image quality over a variety of shooting circumstances, the Best choice of 2019 smartphones is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G. With a Wide sub-score of 42, in the over the database, it is currently the best suitable device for this test division. It gives the best image quality in outdoor as well as typical indoor lighting conditions. Thanks to a mixture of one of the deepest ranges of view in the business (12mm-equivalent),
The Note 10+ 5G gives the broadest fields of light in the industry.
It has a wide lens, and the Samsung is capable of maintaining focal lengths (from 12mm- to 20mm-equivalent) and gives excellent image quality beyond all test. Some artifacts—for example, Towards the corner of the frame (anamorphosis)face deformation and chromatic irregularities are quite noticeable. But this is valid for ultra-wide cameras; the Note 10+ 5G usually manages distortion well, slightly visible in the corners of the frame.
Image shows a wide dynamic range, and Target exposure is commonly accurate. We saw some bit only indoors. Even under the artificial lighting auto white balance system provides excellent results, Color rendering is good as well, with vivid and pleasant colors. As for detail, the Samsung does excellent in extreme conditions but loses some points when in indoor lighting. Pronouncing of Noise in blue skies, noise level when shooting in bright light is slightly higher than the best-in-class tools.
As with all current ultra-wide cameras, For some room promotion of Galaxy Note 10+, 5G is still there. But an ultra-wide camera is always best and high on your priority list.

Best for Night photography: Huawei Mate 30 Pro
Smart cameras were only capable of giving good results in bright light, and when you wanted to shoot on low light or night images, you have to carry DSLR or large sensor compact cameras with you. Now things have changed. A mixture of new innovative computational imaging methods and sensor technologies will lead to improvement. The latest innovations of high-end smartphones are more than proficient in achieving excellent results in dim conditions, and the Huawei Mate 30 Pro is the best among them.
Its primary camera uses a frequently large 1/1.7″ Quad-Bayer sensor. Huawei has implemented frame-stacking technology and other computational trickery to increase the camera’s light-gathering capabilities even further. As a result, the Mate 30 Pro scores an impressive 61 points in our Night tests, the currently best rating in our ranking.
This score depends on well-exposed cityscape shots with comprehensive dynamic range and low noise levels and proper exposure and color saturation down to deficient light levels. The latter is a selective strength of the Huawei when shooting in low light. Huawei Mate 30 Pro beautiful color, night shots show good exposure and low noise levels.
The Huawei uses a sensible flash-triggering policy in auto mode.
Also, in flash auto mode, the Mate 30 Pro expands an interesting flash-triggering strategy. The flash doe not trigger when the scene is bright enough for the camera to achieve accurate target exposure and give low noise and excellent detail. When it spread too dark, it triggers the flash, the background will be underexposed and guards good exposure and detail on faces. For capturing the right image quality, a sensible strategy is useful in any very low-light situation.
The Huawei also arises with a dedicated night mode for landscape scenes that works reasonably well with low noise and fair target exposure. When uses this mood, we observe some color issues, for example, overaccentuated green areas. All in all, though, for low light smartphone photography, the Mate 30 Pro can’t be hit and is a safe chance for anyone who usually takes images in dim conditions.
Also consider: Huawei P30 Pro
The P30 Pro unsurprisingly gives very similar results as it’s relative Mate 30 Pro because it uses the very same hardware in its primary camera. Overall,
P series model still shows remarkable performance in low light. Night pictures tend to show higher noise levels than the Mate 30 Pro.
